Minutes July 2017

Page history last edited by Gabriel Bodard 6 years, 8 months ago

Present: Ryan Baumann (RB), Gabriel Bodard (GB), Elli Mylonas (EMy), Emmanuelle Morlock (EMo), Simona Stoyanova (SS), Charlotte Tupman (CT), Scott Vanderbilt (SV), Polina Yordanova (PY).

Apologies: Hugh Cayless, Tom Elliott, Laura Löser.

Agenda:

  1. report on the migration of Example XSLT to Github

    1. HC made the migration last week, and it all seemed to go smoothly. GB has put in place an svn external in the Sourceforge repo so that user who checkout the whole repo won't notice any difference. Anyone who checks out just the example-p5-xslt directory will need to change their code, though.
    2. RB will update Stylesheets wiki page, Readme, and notify Markup of new process

    3. We need to think about how to handle SVN/Git tagsfor future releases (I take it we don't change past releases?)

    4. Thinking about possible renaming of stylesheets (if they're version 9 from now on, with new bibliography). "Reference Stylesheets"? (More definitive but still not guaranteed comprehensive.)

  2. Related to above: merge of DCLP/PN xslt into EpiDoc master (waiting on HC+TE for report)

  3. Update on using tunnel parameters in Guidelines process (SV will get back to us in a couple of weeks when he's recapped why this work stalled back in January)

  4. report on EFES / training (GB/PY)

    1. There is now a very basic, EpiDoc-specific fork of Kiln in the EFES repo (no technical documentation; look at Kiln docs for installation help)
    2. PY is about to contact "stakeholders" for wishlist and desiderata for EFES features.
    3. We will also put Jamie in touch with people who manage EpiDoc codebases (Brown, Lyon, Duke, Datagenic, etc.) to discuss possible reuse/inspiration

    4. We now have an XSLT testing suite, using python, thanks to Jamie.

    5. EFES training will take place Sept 25-29 (London) and Oct 30-Nov3 (Sofia); epigraphists who use EpiDoc (but not DH coders) welcome. Let us know if there's anyone we could usefully invite.

  5. Plans for Sept/Oct 2017 release. GB suggests this be a major release (see above!), i.e. 9.0. No objections.

  6. Next meeting: Tuesday August 15, 15h00 BST
